Application areas of the QLICK system
The QLICK system is suitable for decking that requires quick installation and high stability. Thanks to the screwless QLICK fastening on pre-assembled brackets, the system is ideal for professional and private projects that need to be completed under time pressure. The full potential of the QLICK system can be exploited, especially for round or asymmetrical surfaces.
The QLICK substructure can be combined with Kebony® Clear decking boards, Thermo Ash and Thermo Pine decking boards, as well as our WPC PIAZZA and WPC 136 (from 2025) QLICK range. Depending on the width of the boards, you can choose between versions for 120 mm and 140 mm widths.
Preparation
Above all, the condition and correct preparation of the substrate are essential for the longevity of a terrace.
If the ground is too loose, very uneven or unevenly sloping, the structure of the decking will inevitably shift over time, which can lead to uneven joints, tilting and premature decay.
It is therefore very important to create a basis that matches the initial situation and remains stable in the long term.
Special attention is required when preparing roof terraces for sloped insulation and/or roof membranes with welded seams.
In these cases, the maximum point load should be checked on a case-by-case basis and the subsequent payload (e.g. pool, large planters, etc.) should be taken into account.
In addition, a barrier should be created as a precautionary measure to prevent plasticizer migration between the welded membrane and the terrace bearing.
This can be easily solved with our laminated isopads with coating, for example.
Step-by-step assembly
Once the ground conditions have been clarified in advance and the substrate has been prepared, the next step is to determine the intended final height.
After all, tripping hazards are rather undesirable.
The good news is that a slight gradient does not mean that the floor level has to be leveled to the millimetre.
This is because our terrace bearings have an easily adjustable head that can easily compensate for slopes of up to 8%.
You can also compensate for larger height differences by using terrace bearings in different adjustment ranges.
Lay out, align, fasten, click on the planks – done!
The terrace supports are then brought to an exact level
using the adjustment wheel with the aid of measuring sticks and a spirit level. The easiest way to do this is to click a QLICK plank onto the beginning and end of the surface. This provides an ideal basis for laying the measuring stick and a reference point for the final installation height. Finally, the end supports are fitted at the ends of the rails if the size of the surface means that it cannot be flush-mounted with a QLICK part under the front of the plank.
Step 4: Laying the planks on the surface
The last and certainly the most satisfying step is laying the planks on the QLICK system. Thanks to the pre-assembled fasteners on the aluminum subfloor, there is no need for tedious screwing. By gently clicking the boards into place, you will see rapid progress and complete the decking in record time. Here, accuracy and care in steps 1 to 3 are rewarded.
In just four steps and without a lot of screwing, the terrace is ready in no time at all! For illustrated step-by-step instructions, follow our QLICK installation instructions or watch the following installation video:
An example of the implementation of our QLICK system: Bremervörde family pool
What is special about this reference is not only the shape of the terrace, but also the requirements for its use. In the outdoor area of the Bremervörde family pool, contact with chlorinated water and heavy traffic are the order of the day on a warm summer’s day. Thanks to the QLICK system, it was possible to implement a flexible solution for the desired round shape without any problems, which also impresses with its high stability and the possibility of replacing individual boards.
